Seems to me Trainworks is leaving profits on the table with this production model of unannounced, extremely short runs of product. It doesn't make sense unless the factory floor time is so limited they can only get the actual manufacturer squeeze their trailers in between other product runs. The 2nd hand market prices clearly indicate untapped demand for these type of offerings.
Another surprising thing is licensing. Large companies like Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, UPS, FedEx, and many others usually require that models which will bear their name or logos have to be officially licensed (which costs money and can be a pain in the butt to obtain). I do not see any official licensing mention on the TWX packaging. Personally I don't care about the licensing thing, but I wonder what the story is behind the scenes.
This is my guess. And also would be my guess as to why the page is gone from their website. This is some guerilla stuff, and I'm here for it.
