First DPM kit....I prefer spraying all parts....

Remember when handpainting, little brushes, lots of coats. Also means if you make a mess you can just cover with the next coat on the bricks/trim etc.

If you don't have any styrene strip to fit that square hole, don't forget that you can ream the hole out, make it round, and fit a piece of styrene rod, if necessary.

Inspired by @leestepr 's article in RMC I went back and redesigned my rather crude K Catenary file. Compared to the other one there is now some assembly required, but with the needed multi media materials worked out it goes fairly quick.

Here it is in comparison to the first one.

As an SPF, I would only critique one thing,  The vertical riser in the K brace should be centered above the track centerline as that is where the trolley wire would hang down from.

Thanks, luckily I can just nip that on these still and move it. Next iteration is finding something thats both fine and strong for the insulators, those M3 bolts aren't doing it for me and I keep getting reminded of it driving under the NEC every day this week.

As an aside is there is there a book on or resource that covers all those details? Having a bit of trouble combing through MOW manuals.

Have you looked at the insulators from Sommerfeldt?  They have hollow plastic insulators in numerous sizes, for various scale.

This scene shows some vehicles on the access road where railfans and illegal dampers frequent will be adding some old tires and appliances ect to the scene.

About 10-15 years ago I tried to etch this bus in Nn3. Still had it sitting around:

Very nice Chris.  Pacific Great Eastern had a similar Four Wheel Drive railbus, built in 1923, that was used as the "shop jitney" in Squamish, transporting shop crews from Squamish townsite to the shops at North Yard.  The chassis was supplied by FWD's Kitchener, Ontario plant and the body (with rectangular upper sash rather than arch-top windows) was built by Westminster Iron Works in New Westminster, BC.

That's the one!!  Around 1952-53, the railway re-sheathed the car so that the lower portion of the windows aft of the baggage door was covered over.  Photograph taken at Squamish, BC on the track leading to the boiler house next to the rear wall of the roundhouse.
