I got these Tangent 4750’s in hand last weekend and I must say I’m super impressed!

They are well assembled, have nicely profiled wheelsets that are the right diameter and in gauge, not loose in the truck. They track well, the bolsters are tight but not binding, just perfect. The roofwalks are very nicely done, amongst the best I’ve seen in that department (not BLMA PD5000 good, but better then pretty much everything else). Body mount couplers of course, decently but not perfectly executed MTL clones. Nice flexible airline detail.

These cars do highlight the ugliness of traditional couplers with respect to coupled distances however.  The IM with MTL trucks (wrong size truck/wheels) have the truck mounted coupler inset, so it compensates the coupled distance, but these cars have accurate trucks and body mount couplers, so the coupled distance with traditional couplers is greater. The good news is that my couplers fit these cars wonderfully, with no height or fitment issues to speak of.

These cars are extremely nice, and I sincerely hope we will start to see more releases from Tangent in N scale in the future!

Awesome comparison photos Andrew. Oh, and @turbowhiz ,would you happen to know anyone that may possibly have a idea on when those highly sought after N-Poissble couplers may be making appearance to an awaiting audience? Wink Wink!
