Oh, also, what's the story with the CPAA reporting marks again?
CPAA, CNA cars were basically US cars. (US built/acquired cars, no import duties paid.) Before the CPAA marks were introduced, "International of Maine" markings were used in a similar fashion on some US-built boxcars.
There's a reason why most of the automotive parts 60' and 86' boxcars had "A" marks since they ran in parts pools with US railroads...
CPI, CNIS, DWC, CVC, ACIS, BCIT, etc. were "International service only", supposed to not be used in domestic service in either country under some specific customs rules I'm less clear on.
