Don't Mix Krylon and Rust-oleum

Say what you want, but Rustoleum Light Gray Primer is my go-to aged asphalt color.  The darker gray primer is my "asphalt patch" color.

I recognize that!  Those roads still look good. 

Did you then dull coat them?

I honestly cannot remember if I Dullcoted the road on the "town's side" of the layout.  I recall that I used alcohol as a wetting agent while ballasting and got a bad reaction with Dullcote on the side where the LP distributor was.  I had to repaint that section of road.  If I were to guess, I would say that I did apply Dullcote to seal the colored pencil street markings and the weathering on most of the layout.

Apply some 70% isopropyl alcohol, and you'll find out real quick!

Peteski:  I don't either, but it was fortunate mistake.  I've never found a use for the second can, having nothing that needs to be galvanized.  By now it's probably lost its propellant and wouldn't work anyway.

And, yes, both cans were MUCH heavier than one would expect for spray paint.
