And THAT's what I just realized! I was planning on using one of those shells for a Flexicoil variant so I think everything just worked out with the soggy box that arrived on my porch yesterday. How fortuitous!!

So, fun fact.

The Micro-Trains SW1500 shells with AAR trucks do NOT come with the roller bearing AAR trucks. They're friction bearings.

Check it out. Below you'll see the Reading SW1500 with the right roller bearing version, then the truck out of the MTL package I got from @learmoia , then the stock one from Walthers. Interesting!

So that looks like the LL/Walthers Friction side frame... Well now we know what MTL did with all the extra side frames from thier drive kits..

Well shoot.. that sucks... (youd think AAR sideframes that come with an MTL SW1500 kit.. are the ones that MTL designed for the SW1500)..

And no.. I didnt swap them out of the package for another project...

Right? It's just... surprising. Or maybe a mistake. Who knows.
I emailed them, I'll see what they say before casting any aspersions.

Thanks for mentioning that too, cause I know one of the fixes I had thought of myself was to buy one of the decorated models, swap the sideframes, and then eBay it... lol.
