If I fly anywhere again, which is highly unlikely, my pockets will be empty and no belt. Shoes will be slip-on soft cotton and no electronics of any kind. Anything I may want will be shipped by UPS or FedEx straight to my destination. No suitcase and my carry on will consist of one change of clothes, no razor. After I pass security, if it is still allowed, I will buy some food at a vendor to eat on the plane. I will also bring some reading material to pass the time.

I’ve been traveling for work for 12 years. Lots of craziness has been witnessed. I’ve learned that certain brands of Protein bars have the same density as explosives (most TSA agents are friendly, bored, and willing to explain why your bag was ‘selected for inspection’). I always travel with my Nikon camera in my backpack. 500,000 miles flown without a problem. Last week, TSA makes me take it out of my bag (first time ever) because it is suspicious. Curious. When it comes to N Scale, I have a pair of small Pelican cases I use for holding custom locos. They’ve never given them a second look.

I listen to a tech program on the radio and one of his weekly guests is a professional photographer who travels a lot. The guy reported that on his last trip through TSA that he had to take every lens out of his case and show that they all worked on his camera.
