It may well have been a members only train - Amtrak does stuff like that occasionally.

I'm a bit confused by the pictures. #145 is shown with trash-encrusted collision damage, while #4 is parked next to the offending garbage hauler and mounds of trash.

Maybe considering it was Republican Congress members going to some resort. I could see some sort of security because of the attack on the baseball team last summer

Sad. Feel terrible for the driver, hopefully investigation will show why the truck was straddling the crossing.  Could give a rats a$$ who was on the train, hopefully those injured make full recovery. Did the truck stall? Faulty grade flashers/gate? These grade collisions seem so preventable...very sad.
