Tank Train cars

I haven't found anything online so I thought I would ask here. Athearn has released these cars and I would like to know how many cars would be joined together in a consist. Athearn has two 12 car sets in early and late schemes and I figure you could probably find them mixed into one train but could I link 24 cars together into one consist or do I do two sets of 12 cars? What is prototypically correct?

The link you referred me too answered my questions so I will repeat them here if anyone else has the same questions.

First, the two types of cars were not mixed because of differences in style. Second, Tank Trains ran in 3 to 13 car sets, depending on what they carried. Which leads to something I didn't ask, oil is not the only commodity carried.
