Not sure if being insightful or taking troll bait...
If you look at the larger linked photo, I think it's pretty clear that it's a prototype photo. The ballast is exteremely fine for it to be a model. There is also much more variance and detail visible in the grass. There are very small details on the car like the grabs on the sides of the ladders and chains between the wells. The container connection points appear to be hollow, and the hole shapes vary from box to box, yet are consistent within each box. Take a look at the visible tires. Unless this is Proto:48, those are some pretty narrow flanges. As to the lighting, there are actually some very hard shadows being cast. Look at the ends of the lower containers; you can clearly see the shadow lines of the upper containers.
Especially given the steep slope on the other side of the tracks, I'm guessing the train is passing through a cut, and is being photographed from the opposite ridge. The resulting angle is very model-like.
