Anyone Have a Car Show Scene on Their Layout?

Blair Line offers a Used Car Lot in N and HO.  I have that as the residence for 10 cars and trucks.

How does one model bare hanging light bulbs and all those flags in N scale?  More importantly, how does one paint, on the salesman figure, a plaid jacket and pencil mustache that small?  Are there decals for that?

That would be with the SMD 0201 size LEDs strung like Christmas tree lights on a very thin magnet wire.   
As far as the salesman goes, someone good with weathering and painting, like  , might have some tips.

I'll second the motorcycle call.  Yes, Woodland Scenics has a set of choppers (which I have); Micorn Art has an old indian that is in etched brass that builds up nicely (or is it a vincent?) and there have been a couple of cast pewter bikes in a 1950's Harley body style.  I'd think this would be perfect for Shapeways . . . .

A Rice-burner?    But no matter what type of bike you desire, there isnt enough variety of bikes in N scale - period.
Sounds like  a perfect 3D printing project (if someone takes up the challenge).

Somebody makes them, I have seen them before.  I just didn't make a mental note because, besides not really fitting my era, the kiddie noise makers and status retiree vibrators don't compare to a R71 with a sidecar.  Luckily, there's a German manufacturer that already makes the latter in N.

I have a similar scene on my layout that is a sort of memorial for a good friend from high school who passed away in 2010. He and I were "gear heads," cruised our hometown on weekends, and wrenched on cars together. He was a Chevy guy, so only his favorite Chevy muscle cars are represented. I model the PRR in 1954, but this scene will forever be on my layout, no matter the era.

Thanks for the link and concept! I've pondered doing something that but figured it would end up looking like an earlier-era layout if everything was parked somewhat normally downtown. I thought a separate and more defined area might be better, but maybe not.

Every summer the Myrtle Beach Mall, where our club (Grand Strand Model Railroaders) is located hosts a Mustang Show weekend.  On Saturday, the mall parking lot is filled to overflowing with Mustangs of every vintage.  The show we set up on our n scale layout was somewhat more modest, but the club WAS overflowing with visitors that day. 

I tried to attach a photo, but it doesn't seem to work.  Is that function restricted for newbie posters?

I am modeling Hawthorne NJ set in 1977. at that time there was a group called the Road Rebels that ran a car show in the summer alog Grand ave. I will be modeling that show!
