I'm with Tom on this one.

Step 1: Get Wordpress.
Step 2: Profit!

Or, you can get an actual Content Management System, like Drupal.

If you want to bring a machine gun to a pillow fight, sure.  ;)  Wordpress is content manangement too, I don't know where you're going with that argument...  Is this like a linux fight?  Should we get Iain involved to tell us why it's better to spend all your time messing with the backend instead of generating content?   :-*

Wrong, absolutely 100% wrong. Wordpress IS NOT a content management system. Does it do some CMS-like things? Sure, but it does not do structured content the way one needs to when selling a product, creating a store, etc.. Ed is right, go look at CMS software, not blogging software trying to be suped up to something it is not,

Maybe I'm not up on my geek terms, but setting up an online store or actually selling product needs a Retail Management System which can tie into a web portal.  That's something like Microsoft RMS with NitroSell handling the web presence when you have an 80,000 item inventory like a hobby shop.  If Drupal does that kind of thing, great.  But website content management of posts, images, etc, is what WordPress handles and for product announcements, news, and an inventory of past announcements/releases, WordPress seems like the ticket.

Wordpress is a great BLOG. Drupal and Joomla is a great Content Management System. DO NOT RUN BOTH ON THE SAME HOSTING ACCOUNT. It is posible to tie in a shopping cart like ZenCart or OS Commerce to either one
