They will sell just fine. They are priced lower than every other currently and soon-to-be available TOFC/COFC, whether loaded or empty. Plus they will arrive with body-mounted couplers and metal wheels, which saves another $5 or so.
Why no fussing from you over the BLMA spine car, BLMA TOFC, or Trainworx TOFC - all of which are unit-train type cars and all of which will be at a higher price point?
Well to tell you the truth I have not been following any of them. I picked up ten of the Topgons at a train show for well below street price to go with my NS double tubs and I got a bunch of Allan Curtis spine cars too. Got a bunch of Walther's well cars in both singles and articulated. Don't have any auto racks or 89 foot flats and don't want any. That's about it for my modern era stuff the rest is 40 and 50 foot boxes, flats and gons and a lot of undecorated 2 bay open hoppers from Atlas, MT and Concor that are getting custom decals for the Montour, P&WV and Pittsburg & Shawmutt Railroads.
Now, if Atlas were to make H20-44's and in P&WV paint .... I shudder to even think of the possibility.
