No, the plus is the price. $25.00 for a flatcar and this thing doesn't even come with the containers. Add that into the mix.  I thought $19.00 for an open hopper was bad enough.  And the real kicker is that these things don't run as singles.  They're run as unit trains.

There are "combination sets" listed which contain a fully loaded car (one flat, four containers) in each of the roadnames, so that option most likely is more economical than buying the cars and containers separately.

I'm assuming that's sarcasm.  But as part of the "plus" the car does have metal wheels, which is a new development for Atlas.  The body-mounted couplers are nice to see also, which bodes well for future new rolling stock in the Master line.

Tell me something A$$hat.  How many of these are you going to buy?  These things operate in unit trains, not ones and twosies.  So how much are you willing to throw at Atlas to get a good size unit train of these?   And let's be fair here.  It's $25.00 for the car plus $20.00 for the containers.  Even at street price it take $100 to get three cars.  I expect to see as many of these in 50 car unit trains on Ntrak layouts as I do those articulated auto racks.

So how many are you gonna buy Ink, even at street prices. If you expect to see alot of 50 car unit trash trains, then obviosly someone is willing to pay the price. In reality, the vast majority of modellers are not going to be willing to put a 50 car trash train on their personal layouts.

You are right, prices are getting up there compared to 5/10 years ago. But that iswhat is happening and not a whole lot we can do about it, except don't buy and move on to quilting because there won;t be awhole lot produced if they can't make a profit. This isn;t Komrad Amerika.

And TOFCs don't run in unit trains?  You should calculate what the MSRP is for the following combinations before feigning outrage over the Atlas flats:

• MTL TOFC and two MTL trailers:  ~$55.00
• MTL COFC and four MTL 20' containers:  ~$75.00
• BLMA TOFC and two Athearn trailers:  ~$TBA (flats) + ~$20 (trailers)
• TrainWorx TOFC and two TrainWorx UPS trailers:  ~$61

Bryan, that's why I'd like to see more these things in runner packs or bundled pricing, etc. There are certain cars, and you've listed most of them, that run in only unit trains for the time period being targeted with the model. We see it with coal hoppers so I don't see why the same type of thing hasn't filtered down to intermoda-type equipment yet,
