If there is a trick it was beyond me; that sucker was perhaps one of the most frustrating things I ever built. In the end I "gave up" and used it although I have two more in package, waiting for the "secret" to getting them right. The quanset hut went better for me because the less severe angle of the curves I think.....
I've not built an HO one as yet, but I'd be happy as a lark if my N scale ones came out that nice and tight. UP1950, great ideas for fixes but you shouldn't have to go to those lengths to get a good fit, after all, these aren't Walthers silos. Those need a joint backer along the entire joint line to keep things in line while the glue sets, the putty dries and you sand your fingers down. I like the idea of using an inner styrene tube to glue to, but what is the correct diameter you would need? Are the panels consistent in thickness? <lv4142003>
