Spent a few hours on Saturday and Sunday at my newly set-up workbench (not yet fully organized) testing and repairing some of my brass F3/F7's some of which I am preparing to sell.

Yup, I am ashamed to say that I snapped a couple of sections of Kato Unitrack together to use as a small, temporary test track for my DC engines.  They'll go back in the COLA box when I get my 6' official test module set up in the train room later this week.  Hey, sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

I also spent some time repairing track on my recently set-up layout, which my cats used as a scratching-board at my previous residence when in storage on their sides.

Sunday evening, I finally got around to working on a project I've been threatening to get done for years...and found the skp file is corrupted.  Well sh!t.  At the same time, I also compared some preliminary uncorrupted files and discovered my measurements were off, so, I'll be fixing that problem and should have a test run finished by tomorrow sometime.

No reason to be ashamed of using Unitrack as a test track.  I can't think of a better use for it, and one can be sure that any performance problems are not due to the track.

Brian, don't know if you've already got this beat, but I'd made decals for my Greyhound Scenicruisers many years ago and have the files you can have for printing on clear decal paper - these are the heavily redone Bachmann ones.

Nice work, especially the open door.

I'm set decals for both bus classes, going with the as-delivered schemes.  I just ran out of time to get them finished, didn't start early enough to account for shipping lead time of paint and other supplies that were not on hand.

Back in 2014 when I was surveying the NORTHERN SUMMIT business car, someone was restoring a Scenicruiser right next to the car.  You can see it at far right in this photograph:




I saw the Scenicruiser shortly before completion and it was gorgeous.  The interior was pastel yellow seats with lots of stainless steel fittings, and California travel posters.  Wish I had taken photographs!

Going to attempt to 3D-print at least the rear Scenicruiser windows and probably the windshields.  But clear resin never has been my friend, so we'll see.

Like everything else, I'm old-school, and used microscale Krystal-kleer on mine for small bus windows. 

I do like that stuff because if you blow it, it's easy to repair, or pull out and just start over.   It's just white glue with an attitude.

On bigger windows you have to suspend the model so that it deflects 'out' rather than 'in'.   It also works well like canopy cement to bind acetate, thin glass, or similar.

Jessie - Do you glue the poles down?

I haven't installed them yet-- but there's about 1/2" of length below ground level.  I will probably just stick them into the scenery and leave them un-glued so they can be removed when I (inevitably) tear through the wires unintentionally..

Bury a magnet under the pole, and you'll be able to quickly tilt them back into place so long as the poles are magnetic... if they are stainless too bad.
