I did some weathering practice on a junk freight car this week.  It's my first weathering attempt in maybe 20 years. I used airbrushed Tamiya for fading and then used Vallejo washes   There's a few things I'll change for next time, but overall, I think it turned out alright. It's not as light in person. The German Black Brown got washed out in the lighting a little bit (that's another lesson learned).

Cory:  I suspect you were joking, but in any case, here it is:

Rule G: The use of alcoholic beverages or narcotics by employes subject to duty is prohibited.  Being under the influence of alcoholic beverages or narcotics while on duty or on Company property is prohibited.  The use or possession of alcoholic beverages or narcotics while on duty or on Company property is prohibited.
From "The Consolidated Code of Operating Rules", 1967 edition.

The three sentences are somewhat redundant, but they do get the message across.  And, yes, the book does say "employes", with one "e", all the way through the General Rules, A through M.

Incidentally, Rule H says "The use of tobacco by employes on duty while serving the public, in or about passenger stations, or on passenger cars, is prohibited."

Bringing out an N scale micro-layout to a model train expo in a Paris suburb. As you can see: it's just delusion (but it works)

That child's expression makes it all worth while .. great work

Made progress laying track into McCullough Yard.  This is the engine facility there.  The paper is the footprint of the shops.

I also designed and printed a base for the shop building--an Archistories kit--which includes drop pits.

Often times, @John,  there’s nothing wrong with a good three foot model.  I like it.  Kudzos!

This is all that I’ve got this week.  I added a Scale Sound Systems speaker to the GP40-2 mother.  The Geep put up a good fight, but I won . . . on Friday the 13th.  😜

More on The Carolina Sandhills Lines thread in the Layout Engineering forum.

The perceived depth of this scene is pretty intense.

@altohorn25 - Nate, are you going to bring that 2-8-4 to Trainfest and run it on the Modutrak layout?

I should have it there; I will only be there on Sunday this year.
