Being jacketed cars backdating them to the 1970s might be tough. The early version could pass for the very late 1970s but they are mostly a 1980s+ car. The later version is well into the 90s/2000s

Not to steal the thread but is "jacketed" about the same as insulated?

Ive been looking at picking up one of the recent run 30K gallon cars ("early") for a foobish early 1970s effort. The reason being that it seems like it'll be a couple of decades before we'll see era appropriate models in N - if ever.

You've got to be careful with the Athearn 30K, the first runs had truck mounted couplers, then they switched to body mounts - I think the latest ones had better end platform etched detail.
