How prototypical is the Jack Frost cane sugar car? Can't find anything on neither www.rrpicturearchives.net nor www.rr-fallenflags.org.

Would it have travelled on New York Central or PRR?

The GN box car looks great, too. But I need more brown (aka "mineral red") box cars from the sixties. I have way too many fancy box cars.

These examples had a platform around the dome, the MTL version doesn't. Would love to see a proto photo if there is one!

But I suspect that the "prototype" for the Jack Frost tank car is the same as the prototype for green ATSF stock cars- which is to say...Lionel.

Tank cars could also be used for molasses, which would be a natural product for a sugar company, before corn syrup became so common.

In NYC a need to ******** the setting of a concrete pour due to a construction worker IIRC that was stuck in it . They said they used " liquid sugar " for the retardation of it setting . So maybe they sell and ship pure liquid  sugar .

From the Better Late Than Never department:

Ed sent me a copy of the UMTRR thingie that references a prototype photo taken in Hershey, PA, which would put it on the Reading. Without seeing the photo myself (and it's in an OOP book pushing $100 on the used market, so that's not likely), I can't comment on whether the car was in a through train or was being delivered to Hershey Chocolate. My July 1981 ORER lists all 8 cars still being in service with Philadelphia as one of the home points.
