Correct UP "system" logo decal?

In my opinion, don't believe anything Clover House says...  I have never had a successful transaction with these folks.

YMMV ....

I had no problems with them back under the original ownership. Haven't dealt with the company after it changed hands.
The dry transfers I was buying (mostly Heinz reefers) were problem-free.

I suspect the prototype year of the Atlas car was pre 1929, when the PFE color change took place. 

Sometimes attempting to model the mundane pays off.

It's modeling the mundane that makes it look real.  To those that may not live out here, they most likely will not appreciate how well you've nailed the iconic plant life of the California high desert in the early spring.  Is that a small spot of Witches Hair plant in front of the ART car?

It is very surprising just how green the California high desert can be.

On further reflection, your plant collection may be more a match the California chaparral biome (or perhaps a transition between the chaparral with the higher desert or southern slope exposure).  On your layout, I see what looks to be sage, yucca, chamise chaparral and perhaps witch's hair?  The photo I provided shows what seems to be a live oak in the right side background - another classic cali chaparral species.

Jake, now you're beginning to scare me, I couldn't tell a biome from a gnome; I'm more about color and texture and variety of plant materials. Witches Hair? Yea, yea, that's it! And yes, spring on Cajon Pass is much greener then most people would think...that's one of the reasons I picked late winter/early spring as a modeling period. That and the snow-capped mountains...

Looks like Atlas is re-releasing the PFE reefer in the "correct" system logo scheme....

Am excited to see Don Tichy is reviving some older decal designs - mostly those that fits Espee kits he makes - and using some new technology.

Specifically I noted he was offering the PFE R40-2 showing the "as built" photo which sported the "System" logo.  He was kind enough even to send me samples. 

Technically, the samples he sent are excellent!  N scale dim data looks great. 

However, for this specific application - they are not correct.  His UP logo is like those of Microscales 60-4240 release; early era "Overland" (sans System).  Perfectly fine for that era and did briefly reappear in some rebuilds later, but was not correct for the as built R40-2 fleet or others of that era. 

However, he seems SINCERELY interested to be customer focused with this new line and claims he is a UP licensee.  So perhaps he can be encouraged to add System to his UP escutcheon => which would be a first in N scale water slide decals.
