Yes, It matches the 1927 ACF car with AB brakes. I have many of them.
Yes, It matches the 1927 ACF car with AB brakes. I have many of them. Most I swapped underframes for the intermountain car ones. One thing about the N Scale tank cars that bothers me is I think someone has a car out of scale. If you have the ability to compare cars please consider the Micro Trains 10,000 gallon car vs the Bachmann 10,000 gallon car. Someone is out of scale and I think its Micro Trains. If you place the Bachmann car with the intermountain 8000 gallon car it "looks right" . I stopper buying the MT car. I do however like the MT three dome car that looks like it could be a 6000 gallon car. The MT three dome car "looks right" with the intermountain and Bachmann car. Randy
Do you mean in diameter? I found a drawing online of the 10,000 gal ACF. It's supposed to be 92-1/2" inside diameter.Calipers on he MT car measure 93-3/8". So its outside diameter is a little less than an inch in diameter bigger than the ACF drawing inside diameter. That seems pretty good to me. But the tank length is about 4 feet too long.Is the length the big problem everybody sees with these ?
This and their 50' boxcar are already available from other manufacturers right?
What about this 1937 and their 50' ACF smooth side? Are these available elsewhere as well?
Although IM's can be hard to find, as they keep cancelling them...
the Failbox just has the wrong roof. Replacing it with a diagonal pattern roof gets you a reasonable ACF boxcar, but with the Trainman already out there, why bother? I have one simply because I wanted another Railbox and Atlas was out. I don't consider the wrong roof the end of the world. I have a stack of X brace, Diagnal and PS bowties in my inventory. The incorrect roof on the ER waffle box annoyed me quite a bit more. What about this 1937 and their 50' ACF smooth side? Are these available elsewhere as well?I know the one car I would be interested is a major foobie: their grain car. The car itself isn't bad - On par with Atlas Trainman offerings I thing, but none of the paint schemes are correct. Not a single one.
