  IC 5054 looks to be a PHS-1 U33C on GSI FB-3 trucks.
  EL had some PHS-1 U33Cs also.
   D&H 701 is also on GSI trucks.
  exPRR/PC/CR 6524 is on Adirondeck PHS-1 FB-3 trucks.

The Minitrix "U28C" is not a U28C. 

When I bought mine (I think it was the 2nd or 3rd engine I ever bought), I didn't have the resource to notice the difference - it said U28C, and it had NP and the monad on it, so that is about all I cared about.  But, it was probably the best running unit I had up until the Kato Uboats appeared.  I still have it somewhere - I wanted to make it into a GN U33C - but, best laid plans (actually the plans weren't best at all, very skimpy in the late 1970s)

My comment wasn't directed at you per se.

I know that's what Trix named it.

But the U28C and the old Rivarossi "SW1500" are the two worst examples of mis-named models in N scale.

My guess is.... in the 60s and 70s, a new loco version would come out and someone with drafting skills would draw it pretty quickly for a modelling magazine.  And so since a loco was brand new, there was the possibility for mis-information.

The Trix model IS a model of something.  But if you want a more accurate "U28C" you would need to kitbash it.

Actually I back dated a Kato U30C to my NP unit - still not accurate, but does look a lot better than the Minitrix - Still, the Minitrix was a very smooth runner - ahead of it's time in that regard.

While I do hope the Arnold U25C works out well, what I would love to see done is an accurate U33C - Both the NP and GN had them - both railroads I once worked for, and I now model (mainly GN - but a post merger train would have NP units as well)
