Howdy

Before I got embroiled in this model train thing, I used to produce resin ship models (JAG collective) and miss all things floaty.  Here is an HO USN Aero Wrecking Derrick I am working on and once finished for a display piece, will be doing it in N scale for my Harbor scene.  This is scratchbuilt out of acrylic, styrene and laser board.  In the primer state now, but will be painting this week for a PNR mini meet this coming weekend.

They were designed by the Navy to recover aircraft in the drink, but were more often used to refloat yard craft and as dive platforms for salvage operations.  They only stayed in harbors and were transported on the decks of LSt's.  This will be a surplus unit being used on my layout to transport timber and engineering supplies.
