I used their bridges as fodder in HO and if I had a layout in N I would do the same . Same with the stone walls sheets . There are many older buildings in the US that work well with the older Vollmer kits . I can only imagine how this is hurting the European modeling options . I can't imagine the closing of Vollmer is do to lack if sales within the modeling railroad community , but maybe a lack of sales do to the attraction quad helicopters with cameras as a replaced hobby . Which might be a cool way to railfan and be shot .

It is! It's Vampire Villa! My first Vollmer kit. I was quite impressed with every single aspect of this kit. They design, the fit, the logic in part arrangement on the spur, it even came with a flickering light and some weathering stuff.

I recall a lot of Euro modellers thinking Vollmer stuff was too cliche...  But the fit and finish are second to none.

Hard to believe the tooling won't find a home.  Although there are some issues in Europe around plastic injection molding
and environmental regulations.

Oh great!  First the solvent-based hobby paints slowly get killed, now styrene kits will be banned?!  I'm not ready to fully embrace laser-cut wood kits.

Isn't that what I said?    Solvent-based paints like ... Floquil.

While as far as we know Floquil wasn't discontinued specifically due to environmental regulations, those regulations are making harder and harder for companies to manufacture and sell those types of paints.  Some Tamiya paints are not available in US due to some regulations.
