@Sizemore. I had seen the MT announcement about the 1860s vintage cars but I was hoping for something closer to turn of the century. In a lot of the pics I see from the 1900 to ww1 era, there is still the mix of early era 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 and the later more modern locos of the same wheel arrangements. All the cars are wood except for trucks and parts of the underframe. There were boxcars and insulated boxcars of 28 to 36 feet. Coal and stone were moved in wood framed gondolas of various lengths. There were flatcars and some early tank cars. Lots of different looking boxcars due to the size variances. Track was laid everywhere. If you were looking for the prototype for that spaghetti bowl layout, any turn of the century railroad town would suffice. Track was everywhere and the really short cars would make even small spaces seem very busy.
