No pic, as no camera in the office.  But I am often able to record engine numbers as the trains go by, and I'll try to pay attention to car styles and numbers in the future.  The nice thing about this line is the traffic ranges from stack trains to general freights with boxcars, autoracks, autoparts cars, covered hoppers, occasional CSX coal trains and lease power.  Hadn't noticed the waffle sides until this thread...

Here's a pic of the first HO release from their archives, which has a February 1976 service date.  This photo resembles the N scale photo in the July ad, so I'm guessing the first release of the N scale Southern cars will fit into your timeframe.

UPDATE:  I just took another look at the July ad of the N scale car, and you can see that the service date is 2/76.  In fact, it's even the same road number (SOU 528611).

Where exactly are you located.  I grew up alongside the old Reading Lurgan Line and PRR CV line.

Hi Bob,

I currently reside in Mechanicsburg near the turnpike/ US 15, but work in Mt Holly Springs.  During the workday sometimes as many as 8-10 trains go through.  I've seen the PRR and the LV heritage units in the last few weeks. 

I've enjoyed your posts of photos of the Cumberland Valley from the pre-Conrail days.  I'm not from here originally, but it's been fun learning the history.
