New N would be nice, but the old N tooling is pretty weak. Re-tooled airslides and cylindricals would be nice.

I think you mean "awesome".  :D

The one I ordered should be here soon, and that they're doing the M636 as one of their next projects is not a very well-kept secret.  :)

(_Years_ ago, some of the guys at my club met and talked to Mr. English at a train show and he indicated that he'd produce all the different big Alco/MLW models "if no one else does them first".)

That's the toolings from the 50s..All of the PRR locomotives,the FM"Baby trainmaster" and a couple of tolley carswas made by Penn-Line in the 50s.

Remember Bowser drop the locomotive kits since the sales was low so,it makes since to sell the tooling..

It looks like it's just the old stuff. It's a shame, there are going to be a bunch of SPFs missing those HO PRR steamers, but then again, I have a feeling the perception of how many of those there are, and the reality significantly differ...

The first thing I thought of as I looked at the list was, "If I were starting a new company providing locomotives and rolling stock would I need stuff like this?"

Maybe with the dropping of the dated stuff they will have room for newer generation manufacturing tools . Maybe this is the start of something good .

Not posted by the manufacturer... no N-scale content... seems like a no brainer to me (at least on Atlas' part).

These "old school" items haven't been run much by them in quite a number of years and I believe that the steam locomotive boilers were discontinued a good while back.  If there is someone out there that can make good use of them then HO will benefit from them once again... for N-scalers it really doesn't matter, unless they decide to spin-off the N-scale line, which, at this point, might not be such a bad thing, especially if it is picked up by someone who is willing to really commit to it.
