What is a Gardern track?  Is that like a Goshdern track without all the frills?

It's the mis spelled version of "Garden track"... a small "yard" right beside the station and platform that often hosted sleepers awaiting use and visiting sleepers of foreign roads that are on charters and have their passengers at local resorts.... very nice way to spend a lot of money.....nice work if ya can get it.............

I will probably get a Santa Fe only problem though is on N scale supply the MTL description says painted brown!! ??? I thought ATSF hoppers are oxide red. Are they doing the same thing with Santa Fe that they do with their Conrail cars!  Why do they always use brown!!

Welcome to modeling Santa Fe and BNSF...and apparently Conrail.  (sigh)   Intermountain has the same tendancy, although thankfully they got the 5161's pretty well on the money.  But they had some early preproduction cars that were nice and brown....I like to think I saved them from themselves on that deal but I know I wasn't the only one.  I've quit buying anything IMRC doesn in Santa Fe because of this.   I've decided I'm gonna start returning cars that don't have remotely close paint jobs, missing dim data, incorrect numbers when the data is easily available, etc.   It looks like MTL didn't do a horrible job anyway....we'll see.

I am quite familiar with the old Garden tracks.....quick story......I made a Freemo modual of Lake Louise in HO and, of course, modeled the G tracks.  One morning at a large Freemo setup (Big Valley Alberta) I woke up and entered the hockey arena after a cold nights sleep in my tent (that year we only had 600 feet of layout in the arena) and someone parked a Santa Fe wrecking train in my G tracks and spotted my Heavyweights on yard track 3.........I bet my customers would have been shocked to find they had to cross 5 tracks to get to their promised breakfast!

Only the Santa Fe 4427 for me. I figured that or BN would be first. Runner paxks soon would be good, but I'll pass on a Santa Fe RP.

The funny thing is, the owner of the Wreaking train didnt realize I am a wiz with programming decoders.  Hmmmm.......lets see if we set momentum to 250 and make speed step 1=256.
