The big highlight of 2010 was, without a doubt, seeing Version Two of my railroad come to life for its first official operating session. 

Layout construction began in November 2008 and a trial shake-down session took place in December 2009.  Then came the NC Rail Run (N Scale Edition) in February 2010, during which several visiting operators came to put the CR&E to the test.  At the end of the day, I was very happy that the railroad performed rather well. 

In April 2010, my regular crew was back to operating the CR&E after a two year layoff while I moved and rebuilt.  Bugs that were found during the RailRun had been fixed and the railroad ran extremely well. 

Seeing the railroad come to life has always put a smile on my face.

The best thing for me was building a replica of one of my favorite scenes. Little Rock tunnel near Afton VA.



It came out about as good I could have hoped and its been fun creating a prototype scene. Unfortunately, I can't see much modeling on the horizon for me. Photography has taken over as my main hobby(and getting paid for some of it too!) and my impending 18th birthday and graduation will not lend much time, space or funds for a layout. I'll be back at it someday though.

Davis is correct; your talent is beyond your years and your modelers "eye" is as advanced as any here or anywhere else. Make sure you never forget your initial love of n scale; live your life; allow it to take you where you want to go; do what you want to do and you will find your way back... I hope to be around to see it.....

Thats what I thought too.....like ten years ago.  Hasn't happened yet.

Bit of advice, if you really like the hobby, dedicate some tiny portion of time to it to keep you interested, say 30 min every other week or so.
