I almost did a few hours ago.  Got so far as Liking them so I could post it on their Wall, then I decided they probably wouldn't actually look at it anyway, so I didn't.

Ed K dared me to also, but I'm not sure I want to.  It was fun, but I'm not sure Walthers will find it funny.  I want to still have some credibility with them when I make suggestions.

I support your anonymity, but sometimes the truth hurts. And Wally needs the truth.

Fine...  Have fun with it.  Just would rather not slap my name on it, that's all.

Meh...  I decided I wanted to maintain ownership and distribution.  I'd rather keep it an inside joke.  I moved it.

Vincent

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

When they came out years ago under the LifeLike label, I scorfed some up and although flawed, I liked them.  That is because I am a certified cabooseaholic from deep within.

Hey, I just purchased an Intermountain UP CA5 caboose which is more detailed than any out of the box car I ever owned.  Even better than some of the Atlas newbies.  I paid 22.95 for the IM model, and never regretted it for one second. Heck, I will still pay about 10 bucks for a glassless MT caboose, that is how bad I have it, but even a cabooseaholic has his limits.

I don't think I will pay that price for a shell, frame and trucks with no glass, or even a hint of improvement over the old days.  I learned the marketing, that to survive a price increase, a company has to offer a "little something" to make it attractive, and from this thread they didn't.

Geesh, I hope Walthers learns to love N scale, we are truly a nice group of people.

Don't forget the "new box"!

PS. I just went to Walthers to quote the "new box" feature statement and it has been removed from the car description.

Easier to just shave them off and replace them with the decal-based ones?

Oh yeah!  I totally forgot about those Archer rivet sets.  They would really look the part.  Off to their web site...
