Well, I'll tell you...  with the QC problems I hear about with the B40-8's (Atlas, Trainboard), the problems with the SD60's I've had, etc... I am getting a bad feeling about these C40's...

Lou, you have a bad feeling about everything model railroading related...

Odd I had 3 of the SD50's, 2 SD60's and 10 SD60M's and never had an issue with sound on any of em. I know that there are plenty saying they have issues, but Ive yet to see it,
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

The only issue I ever had with tha Atlas SD-60s was from the very first two I bought back from the first release.
The plating on the wheelsets was almost non-existant.
Eventually, I wrote Atlas about the problem (Remember, this was before the Atlas forum), and they sent me 12 new wheelsets which were only marginally better than the first ones yet, made all the difference in the world in the locos not stalling and jerking. Wheelsets on later releases of SD-60s are much much better.

So I saw the demo unit today at the WGH show.

Wow... the ditchlights alternate on DC too.

Oh, and the cabs on the CR units? Yeah, they've got the correct marker lights. Way to go guys.

Oh sure Ed, tease the rest of us and don't post pictures.  Your just plain evil...... :)

Were these the straight C or CW models??  I'm assuming the CW models because I didn't think the regular cabs were coming with ditch lights.

I'll work on pics (and maybe video, if the place isn't so packed) tomorrow.

Thanks Boober.

Anyway, they weren't running the C40-8W today, but I did get a closeup of the cab with the CORRECT CR marker lights. I'll post em up later.

Not surprising for them to be correct... since the CR cabs are also the only low numberboard/high headlight cab, might as well add the correct class lights to the face mold for the cab.

Do they have the recessed versions on the rear?

I probably need a new hobby!!  I think it's ripping out this WS foam roadbed that's given me a sour mood lately!
