Did IHB have any of these? I thought theirs were some odd ball 3 cylinder.

I suspect the "Harbor" had conventional 0-8-0's as well as the three-cylinder ones. Most NYC-affiliated roads had large numbers of USRA style 0-8-0's.

You must have that right, I just looked on the Walthers website and damnation, the 0-8-0's are now due November 30th. Don't expect one for a Christmas present, I guess...

The second run of HO bulkhead flatcars is delayed a month until November. Not too bad, just a month. I'm waiting to get my hands on a couple of the paint schemes from that run. Looks like the reprints of cars from the first run will be available in December. They sold out of all of those about a month or two ago.

I see the Walthers smoothside 10-6's (first batch) are now showing due March 2008. That's their second delay. Almost a year behind the original ETA.

USRA 0-8-0s and copies on the NYCS were class U-3.  The first ones appeared in 1919, the last in 1944, the same year that the FTs appeared on the NYC and years after diesel switchers had first appeared on the NYCS.

The NYC had originals as did LE&W, IHB, T&OC, K&M, MC, Big Four.

Some of the above also had copies.

The P&LE, B&A and CR&I all had copies, only.

The ones that appeared in 1944 went to the P&LE.  P&LE did not get its first diseasel until 1946, two FM yard goats, which parent NYC quickly appropriated.  Oddly enough, it was these diesels that convinced the P&LE that it did not want any more steam, especially the A-2as that were to be ordered from ALCo.

All three of the major builders built NYCS' U-3 classes.  NYCS did prefer ALCo, but the USRA dictated the sources of the originals.  As for the copies, the NYCS did sometimes stray from ALCo.

Looked at Walthers website again, the first batch of the 0-8-0's now shows a Nov. 18, 2007 arrival date. Perhaps they're already "on the water".
