Because there's a show this weekend, I decided to get my a$$ in gear and weather up all my recent acquisitions.

It turned out to be a total of 12 cars.

No pics yet, they're not dry, but this is why I like my vodka washes.

Hey Ed-Geez! I thought KLUKE was pushing the time thing when he got 2 awesome cars
done last weekend!

Easy on the vodka-you might go out & find yourself weathering your car or truck!
(Just kidding!)

Now that I am working day shift, I can get some nice base weathering done when I watch TV with my wife at night. Bang out about 3 cars.

Agree.  Ed, for us to tell you "nice work", we need to see them.

But a question:  the weathering forum has been driving home a few points over the years.  Look at the prototype, take your time, concentrate on details, don't drink the windshield washer fluid, etc.  All of these take time.  What was the motivation to weather 12 cars at once?  Why not space them out to increase your skills from car to car?

The motivation was Timonium:
I had gotten a buttload of new stuff, but wasn't going to run any of it, because unweathered stuff just sticks out so much in any train of weathered cars.

So I spent a night getting everything toned down a bit. Like I said, none of them are stellar "prize models", however, I did kill the plastic shine on them, and they looked right at home when I ran them.

I'll get some pics up in a bit.

I agree those are decent principles to follow. But sometimes, your prototype just isn't that interesting and unique. My fleet of LBF boxcars is so new, relative to my modeling period, that the most I could do was hit them with a few black washes and put some dirt on the trucks, couplers, and sills.
