Thank you. I edited my note. Lionel is still doing more 250’s than the rest of the high-end N scale market, but there are 4 units I had forgotten.

I mean, it's easy when they'll just slap the logo on any old model.

Forgot to mention, Shane from ScaleTrains mentioned Matt Gaudynski from FVM is no longer with them. I wonder if we will ever see his Scale America put out new products? He did keep some tooling when he sold out to ScaleTrains.

Yeah especially when your making most of it up out of thin air.

And you don't see the cancelations when stuff doesn't meet minimum orders.

The new Lionel catalog dropped. It’s safe to say that one company announced more interesting things than rest of the industry put together.

I think if you took everything Atlas or Scale Trains is doing and condense it down to two catalogs a year.. it would far surpass what Lionel is doing.

Well that is troubling for n scale.  He seems to be the only one interested in n scale stuff. Any time you asked one of the other guys something dealing with specifics to a n scale model they always said talk to Matt.

Interesting... I saw Matt at the NSE Convention in Milwaukee.  He was not there with ScaleTrains, he was just there as a participant.  He did mention that he had just moved the family to Tennessee, so it seems a bit surprising that he would have left ScaleTrains after moving.

I’m not sure who their new “N Scale Guy” is, but I talked with Chris from ExactRail for awhile regarding the Autoflood II. Matt Gentry was the one who told me the RD-6 (his project) was coming to N Scale.

What was interesting is over at the Athearn booth, I overheard Jim Wiggen mention to another attendee that he’s actually an N Scale guy.

That is interesting to hear about Athearn's "Associate Brand Manager" - I wonder if this will ever translate into more than once in a blue moon new Athearn N products.

According to the Athearn rep I spoke to, the reason they skipped Oneida and Western in the first run of N CA-11’s is because they didn’t want to tool the unique marker light they were ordered with since it cost a decent amount to tool and the HO preorders were pretty low. Oneida and Western could happen in a future run without the marker light though.

From what I read in Wikipedia, the cars are coupled together permanently -- at least, they can't just be easily uncoupled separately. They have individual trucks, tho.

KATO updated their website for the CZ announcement they apparently announced.

They are following the "new" selling method they seem to be following now, just like the Surfliner release and the recent Phase 3 Superliner reboot. First set is a E8 + 3 cars and then a 8 car set instead of the old full car set.
