Trying to get at least something finished.

This is a view of the farm from the RR crossing.

Made a roof for the barn. Printed the panels standing straight up. Made a vent.

This house from Walthers is about the only store bought kit on the layout. And it was very hard not to toss it (and $40 bucks) in the trash. It is a recent kit so figured the tooling would be good. Nope. The windows are chunky as hell. The roof barely has any shingle detail. The foundation flared out at the bottom for molding. The chimney was a lifeless blob of plastic. Left the windows and roof. Filed the foundation square. Also had to under cut the roof around the edges as it was like a foot thick. Chimney is some 3D print from something else. The window openings on the front door are not all the same size

So what color do the people say to paint these?  The 2 bottles are what I read to use, but look how different they are. I almost want to mix the two together.

That is a matter of great discussion! It depends on era. I'm not an expert, but since everyone has to be some level of Pennsy modeler I have done some research. In the '20s, Freight Car Color (FCC) was very orange. Over time this got browner and browner.
With those two bottles, I think the one on the right is closer for your era. Maybe darken it a hint, but not much.
