Another thread reminded me of this, which is a huge thorn in my side.  :RUEffinKiddingMe: Why can't these manufacturers "get it together" and offer these to us?

Let's start with Atlas:

The Barber S2-A 50-ton truck (as used on their Master PS-1 Boxcars).

Still can't buy the Atlas Andrews trucks from their USRA boxcars.

Are they the same as these? From the rebuilt USRA cars.

Yeah. I remember asking Paul many times for them.

Guess dream do come true. Time to order some.  :)

So trying to order these for the last 10 min. Get to the end and it says my email is already used. So I change it to another email. Says it is already used. I give them a 3rd email I use. Says it is already used. So I give up on that and try to log in. Guess what since I don't remember ever registering I can't get a password to work. I ask them to send me an email to reset the password. I never get that email. Why is it so hard to do anything. Oh well I waited 20 years for those trucks, I can wait longer.

I've been enjoying modern equipment and the lowered bolster BLMA/Tangent truck options as I upgrade them to nPossibles.  Things fall together and end up at a good height.

I want to go back to 1950's era stuff that fits on Modutrak better, and my holdup is the lack of lowered bolster trucks in .537 axle in a couple varieties.  We've never had a good source for these!  It's a gap in the market right now and holding me back!

@Chris333 Atlas has an official eBay store with their parts, looks like the trucks are there too if you don't want to work out the website shenanigans - https://www.ebay.com/itm/406189618329

Looks like you all bought them out before I read the post.  They also have the Barber S-2 frames, but at a price (5.75) several times what they were charging for the Andrews.

At 11.50 a pair and $4 shipping = 15,50 plus a couple bucks for wheels, they cost more than I paid for most of the cars I would want to put them on.

OOPS... Sorry all.  See Mark5's correction below.

Tom D.

I gave up rivet counting when I couldn't see an N scale rivet anymore.

For clarity, those are not the Barber S2-A 50-ton trucks. They are the trucks for the GUNDERSON 7538/7550 Box cars.

I should also mention, that Atlas still does not have a parts diagram listed for the Master PS-1 Box Car (which has the Barber S2-A 50-ton trucks)

https://shop.atlasrr.com/c-1076-n-master-rolling-stock-spare-p.aspx

This model has been out what? Ten or more years? :D

Just buy the PS-1 cars, save the trucks, and toss the bodies.

Fantastic idea!  Far more economical than paying $9 a pair.

Actually, the majority of PS-1 boxcars ran on ASF A-3 trucks.  So just buy the ex-BLMA trucks and swap out the Barber S2-A trucks on your existing PS-1 boxcars.  They use the same bolster.
