Bachmann Strasburg RR passenger cars , hope for N ?

Bachmann might be our best hope for a 2-10-0 #90 and the passenger cars in N scale . Too long not done to make sense . Even if they sold just one set a day at the gift shop . That is a never ending supply of sales year after year . It gives N scale railroading a shot in the arm as well .

I'd buy some in N. The Strasburg cars are ex B&M, so all I'd need to do is paint them!

Normally I'd say "forget it; never gonna happen," but Bachmann's gonna Bachmann, and they've been pretty good about reproducing HO product in N.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. Not sure that a legit #90 is forthcoming, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bachmann were to do their N scale 2-6-0 as #89. Or their URSA 0-6-0 as #31. Given that they've done the same USRA 0-6-0 as a narrow guage K-36 2-8-2, they're not exactly counting rivets.

Strasburg is my happy place...formative for me in ways that are still evident. I rode behind the 1223 and the 7002, back when Juniata Shops products made the hourly trip between East Strasburg and Lehman Place Junction. One of the very first pictures of me after my adoption by my parents in 1975 is of me standing in front of the "Paradise" business car. I would love to be able to pay homage to America's oldest continuously operating short line in N scale.

The huge gap are full length heavy weight closed end wooden coaches/cars.  A great example is the B&O coach at SRR:

Their old (late 70s?) USRA 0-6-0 body, on a Marklin mechanism, makes a pretty good Nn3 2-8-2.  Separate the cab and firebox, and add about 1/8 of filler, brings the rear of the cab back far enough to hide most of the motor.

I'm just throwing it out there: I'd stab someone I knew for these in N.

Do these along with that 2-6-0 of yours in Strasburg 89 guise and prepare to sell 10,000 of them a year through the SRC gift shop alone.
