Eastside Trains (Kirkland WA) closing end of year?
« on: June 01, 2026, 10:21:49 PM »
Just got an email from them:

Quote
Dear Loyal Friends & Customers,

After 43 years we have decided that it is time to close our business. We have enjoyed bringing trains and traditions to your homes and we hope that you continue to enjoy them for many years to come.

Our doors will officially close to the public December 30, 2026.
We will no longer be accepting repairs but be assured that we will get them all fixed as best we can for those who already have repairs in house.
For those who have items in layaway, we ask that you pay for them and pick them up by December 30th. For those that have items that are yet to arrive, fear not we still plan to get them to you.
Please keep your eyes and ears open for all the great sales still yet to come.
Thank you again for all the many years of your business.

Sincerely,
Steve Suskin & Stacie Rottinghaus

I don't make it over there as much since I no longer work nearby, but it was always a fun place to go...

Curtis

Sorry to hear that. I still remember the first location of theirs that I visited - NE 68th, thirty years ago? - and the much-improved building in downtown Kirkland.
