An interesting 2026 prototype: coal transload. Takes a single car - in this case a relatively new Trinity hopper - and a low profile unloader to turn a portion of a disused steel plant into a coal pile. I was most surprised to chance on this site earlier this week. There was a string (five-ten) of Trinity hoppers a couple of miles east waiting to be unloaded. Neither myself nor the gent I was with have any idea what company needs what certainly looks like coal locally; there are a couple of power plants nearby but they have the typical unit coal setups.
