Shell removal on newer Atlas N SD9

I swear I've done this before, but for the life of me I can't get the damn shell to release!  This is a newer DCC ready (NOT the most recent DDC ready/DCC Locsound) version.  I can see the clips under each end near the trucks but they won't release.  One site said to remove the plastic fuel tank, then squeeze the shell near the cab to get the clips to release.  Nothing. I've tried gentle prying using thin toothpicks, small jewelers screwdrivers, all to no avail.  I also tried the "gentle drop onto the end of the jewel case" method.  Again, nothing.  Yes, I removed couplers, too!  I'm stumped on this one.  The pic shows the screwdriver pointing at 1 of 4 stubborn clips!

Well, well!  I gave it one last tap on the edge of the jewel case and out it came.  With a pre-intalled and working decoder!  Go figure!  I doubt the seller knew either.  This supposedly came from an elderly gentleman who collected and didn't run.  Certainly looks like it.  Zero wheel wear that I can see, and the shell and box are perfect.  Excellent, smooth and quiet running, as these are known for.  The best part is I believe I was the only bidder and won it for $79.  Happy birthday to me!  :D
