Wow. I had to do a double-take to see what's different in the new Plate F boxcar release (a subtle difference in the rib sizes...) The gondola samples look great - the NSC gon is definitely from the same factory as the Otter Valley scrap gons (which are very well done). I'm not aware that Aurora has done the 52' gon in HO yet, have they? The samples look excellent though. At some point I am literally going to beg these manufacturers to make it stop for a while so I can catch my breath. Among the newly tooled releases I have purchased in quantity recently, in no particular order:* Aurora Plate F boxes* MTL plate F boxes* MTL 60' flats* OVR scrap gons* Athearn acid tanks* ST Trinity reefers* PWRS NSC hoppers* IM 3281 hoppers* Atlas 3230 hoppers* Rapido NSC centerbeamsor will purchase soon:* Rapido Greenbrier reefers* More Rapido centerbeams* Aurora 50' boxes* Aurora NSC gons* Aurora Greenbrier gons* ST Trinity Plate F boxes* ST Greenbrier 3250 hoppers* Atlas Plate F single-door boxes* Atlas "centre partition" cars* Kato Greenbrier tanks (unless they suck)...and I'm probably forgetting some. I don't even bother keeping a top-5 list any more. The only thing on it is any 3-unit articulated well cars besides the Kato set.
@GaryHinshaw you mean these? Walkways and ladders on a single print.
The gons look so good....too bad the proto info says they were built in 2006 and 2012, when I cut my railroad off at 2005, specifically to avoid the need to have any BNSF Swoosh logos on any cars or locos.
I just looked at my old Exactrail FBOX and noticed it has different era TTX logos on each side . The Aurora model can't come fast enough.
You can only see one side at a time
JTC are still working on a drawbarred set. Supposedly this year. We’ll see.
My vague recollection is that this was a prototype patch scheme. I believe there were no Trinity FBOXs delivered with the Forward Thinking logo, but the prototype ER car was re-logo'd on one side during a repair. Many of the Gunderson cars (like the Aurora model) were delivered with the new logo.
But no non-Gunderson articulated 53' well car sets anywhere? Le sigh.
Testing more cars today for Aurora on the Free-moN layout
Do they let you keep them? Please lobby hard for more well sets!
