I'm flying in from Vegas, got to be in Pittsburgh the following week for work, so why not. However, I don't land at Hartford until 830ish in the morning, so won't be there as the doors open. Def going in with an open plan, as this is my first time at the show, I'll have to follow Peteski's hilighted map idea.
In addition to the maps/floor plans of the four buildings, also download/print the list of exhibitors and review it to determine which ones you might particularly want to see.
Maybe all the Railwire folks could meet up somewhere at the show? I know, it's hard to heard cats.
Stop at the Big Y supermarket and get a box of prune pączki (polish donuts) for Peteski.
J Timothy's Taverne in Plainville has the best wings in the northeast. Unfortunately they are closed on Mondays. I stop there for lunch on the Thursday drive up. I check-in with the show office Thursday early evening and set up on Friday.
Bring along at least bottle of water and, maybe, some snacks.
There are plenty of food vendors inside each building. But remember, there's thousands of people all wanting to eat at the same time. So yes bring snacks or plan to eat at odd times. You don't wanna waste precious time standing in line for food.
