I finished up Soo Line GP9TT #2556 for my 1958 "Laker" passenger train.

This was an Atlas shell that I painted with Polyscale PRR tuscan and Modelflex Soo Line gold.  Decals are by Microscale and Circus City Decals.  It is the newest Atlas mechanism with the E24 socket on the factory board.  It has a Digitrax DN1137e24 decoder installed.  MT 1015 couplers.

While the colors are a little different from the two factory decorated Atlas models, I'm happy with the result.

Finished redressing a pair of Tomytec GMC TDH-4512 Old Look buses for Connecticut Railways & Lighting Company, which serviced Bridgeport.

Did a bit more work on Niagara.

All of the abutments were burried in Celuclay.









Then I was looking at photos I took on my hike and decided the slopes leading up to the bridge needed to me steeper. So I got to carving again.









Those areas are all painted now and I’m officially ready to start ground cover and understory!

Cut and installed the underlayment for the layout, and added second layer of mud on backdrop.   Progress is slow, but still progress!





This will get a layer of 1" foam on top.  The squared hole is where the turntable will go.

Got the backdrop primed.    Will paint it blue in a week or so.

Needed to replace the FEP on the printer. But with it running again, the first test print of the tanker looks pretty good.  Many fragile details print fine but suffered during support removal.   The underside  brake line detail was lost in the supports but printed fine as well.  The body is hollow but still hefty, won't need additional weight.  Lots of ride adjustments needed too.

My mow cars needed a way off the flats, and I model pre-scorpion era. I found a prototype photo (thanks Loadstone) so I built my own ramps out of code 40 rail, brass wire and styrene.

1970's through 2010ish... there were a number of similar looking cars running around. I enjoy the offset walkway. These and whale belly cars (not the Atlas ones) ruled for quite some time, but they seemed to disappear overnight (like the paperboxes, the MIL/HS bulkheads).

Probably a safety thing.  I need to work out printing all the details but I'm encouraged by the potential to print these.   But I only do models c. 2018
