CMR Products?

Anyone have any experience with CMR Products Inc? I ordered a C415 shell off them on eBay, I ordered it on Oct 6th, and have not heard anything from them about shipping status, or any kind of communications.
I sent them a Message though eBay, and have not heard anything there either.

I'm just curious if anyone has any kind of experience with them? Like is this kind of thing normal for them? I really want this shell, I have a love for weird motive power, and I really want to build the Chehalis Western C415, I even bought the decals already. Of course, I'm taking come liberties, as I am using the Scheme for their GP38-2s. It's my railroad, I do what I want.

I didn't see any locomotive models on their site, as they specialize in buildings and building details.  The only vehicles I saw are a towboat and barge in HO.

I just got notification of shipment of detail parts from ebay purchases this week.  I have a separate order thru the website for a shell and decals I've yet to hear anything about

I have purchased and received 3 shells from them. I think they take a bit of time, I also think they print to order so it takes a little while for them to fulfil the order.
I have no complaints with their service and the products are well made. I will be ordering more from them in the future

Edit: Just went to their website and they state: Please allow 8-10 business days for your item to be printed and shipped.
I'd say this just gives an indication not a guarantee.

I've ordered decals, shells, and some (no longer available) laser cut diorama frame parts from CMR over the years, and they are a good/legitimate shop.  I think they are kind of a "distributor" with different small makers producing the various items they sell.   I would allow some time for them to ship as the small shops may be run by people with "real jobs" etc. and it may take more than a few days to make and turn-around an order.  For comparison:  I've had some folks request my 3D printed cars and it can take at least a couple weeks to get them printed, cured, inspected, packed and shipped--what, with life having other distractions.

Finally--and I'm a bit of a picky customer-- but the shell I purchased from CMR (a Z scale caboose) was "ok".  The design wasn't as detailed as I like and had some flaws--minor warping, layer lines, support scars, etc.  Probably would've been better in N, or HO.  OTOH, I didn't want to spend time designing and testing a new car.  And it had a round roof--really hard to 3d print without layer lines.  So--I fettled the model and in the end it turned out fine.  (Caveat: this was over a year ago--in the meantime, they may have updated/improved their printers, designs, etc). 

The decals are good, IMO, with great artwork and many hard-to-find or unique schemes.  My observation is they tend to have some pretty thick ink.  This is pretty typical though for non-silkscreen printers (basically everyone in the US except Microscale) using inkjet or dye sublimation (not sure what they use).  Again--more of an issue in T and Z scale.  I'd order a set and see for yourself.

Their decals are their best product. Their 3D print Ted details and Easy Streets printed styrene roads come in nearly identically second. I have one of their Argon tank cars that was well printed. Give them some time - not everyone is Amazon when it comes to delivery.

I've bought from them a few times.   They are perfectly nice to deal with.

I'm reasonably pleased with their decals.  Not as good as K4, Microscale or Highball, but useful, with some unique prototypes (NKP mighty 90!) and usable.

I bought an N-scale 3D print.  Not happy with that at all.  They remade the first one, which was a soft, sloppy mess (probably didn't get post-processed properly) but the second try still has some problems (distortion, etc.).  It's usable as a background model, but only if you don't look too close.

On the eBay order I have, the shipping window was at least a week after the order being placed, so its kind of mentioned.  But I agree on the responding to messages, as I sent one regarding their 4 track signal bridge that I've yet to hear about ( about a month now)

I was just looking at their stuff last week.  I'm in need of a chop nose GP9 cab.  All the listings I saw had the print time and shipping listing on ebay. 

But like you, I was also leary, as there were some poor reviews on ebay about communication and shipping.

Figured I'd throw an update.
I called CMR today, using the number on their website. There is no problem, hes just pretty much a one man show with the 3d printed stuff. As suspected, he prints on demand, and has been backed up. He said my shell is in the curing tank, and should ship next week. I gave him the heads up that there isn't any mention of an 8 to 10 day lead time on the auction I won. He was kinda frustrated about that.

From what he said, his brother use to run the eBay side of things, and he passed away last year. Since then, he has been trying his best to make the best of it, along with trying to update reoccurring auctions. He also said that he personally ships the FedEx shipped items, where the USPS stuff goes to the people that help with the decal sales. He also said it is faster, and generally better to just order strait from his website.

He seemed pretty apologetic, and was understanding with my frustration. We have a mutual love of weird power. He also knows our very own Randgust, and is working on a 3d printed CF7 shell, since Randy shuttered his CF7 production, because of Atlas' short sighted change in their mech.

TLDR: 8 to 10 day minimum lead time for anything 3d printed from his auctions. Its better to buy from His site
