Been working on perfecting a tarp using Blender and importing the results into SolidWorks to merge with an existing model. This Mack CJ canvas truck is the first I finished with a tarp covering its contents.

 No it doesn’t. Ringling didn’t tie down the canvas truck tarps.

Even with the tarps that were more secured, they used bands or ropes over the top rather than tie downs attached to the tarp edges.

In regard to modeling tarps?  I can add a thread there if it would be helpful.  Turns out to not be difficult to achieve, if all of the settings are correct.

Bryan-  might not be evident in photos, but they would have had to have been tied down somehow?!

Did some 3D printing of my Z scale trucks that are set to accept N-P couplers (this was a test print)...



...and finished up the exterior lighting for the Norwood engine house.  The wiring is set up with pins made from scrap LED leads that plug into brass tubes extending below the benchwork, so the building can be removed.  I may yet light the interior...

Nice looking engine house!  I hope to install one in my staging yard when it is eventually built.

I hosted my 39th Op Session last night for the purpose of bringing all freight cars down to Chetwynd for removal from the layout in advance of further track painting.

Work Extra 570 set out for some ballasting work to wrap up the summer work train cycle:




Engs 567 and 570 back onto the southbound tonnage at Septimus:




The westbound Dawson Creek Switcher totalled twenty cars and caboose, and brought the summer yard engine from Dawson Creek back down:




The last revenue trains for a while prepare to depart south for Prince George:




RS-3s Nos. 567 and 570 were the last to leave, with caboose 1863 in tow:




The layout now devoid of engines and rolling stock; vehicles and structures soon to follow . . . . .




During October I hope to get the yard tracks at Chetwynd and Dawson Creek painted, and get some stalled model projects moving.
