Will the Kato or Bachmann RS2 bodies fit the Atlas Classic RS3 or Chinese RS11 mechs?

Hi!
I do not know about the RS-3 bodies, the Chinese body fits the Kato chassis. But if you do swap bodies, you need to change the fuel tank on the RS-3. The RS-11 swap I would not recommend. You would need to modify the nose, at the very least. Let me know if it does work, the RS-2 on the RS-3 chassis.

Edit: I had a Life Like RS2 chassis under my Atlas RS3 shell.  Didn't realize it until I started looking closer. Disregard the first post

Just tried the Atlas RS-3 DCC ready mech under the Kato RS-2 shell and it's a no-go. The Atlas mech is lightly wider/longer and the DCC board will barely fit lengthwise if you do rework the mechanism.

I completely zipped on the fact that it was LL, not Bachmann, that made the RS2. No I wonder if the former LL RS2 sold by Atlas now runs on Atlas's RS3 mech or is running on the old mech. Or just find someone who wants to swap some Atlas RS3 for LL or Atlas RS2...

The Atlas ex-Walthers/LifeLike RS2 still utilizes a descendant of the original LifeLike mechanism. It may be more DCC-friendly now, I don’t remember. But it is not an RS3 mechanism variant.

Thanks for the info, Bryan.
