Dude just pulled off a wonder in an H0 BLI PRR T1.

Credit to Charles Li on Facebook in a post to the PRR Modelers group. 

Charles developed a method to simulate wheel slip to the front engine on the loco.  Awesome stuff.  Immediately pulled the Spookshow pic to see if it could be done in N, lol.

I recall to do this you need independent motors for each driver set. I've also seen this done with brass Challengers.

Spookshow to me mean N scale. Plastic models of multi-engine locos like a Big Boy or T1 have both engines permanently coupled together through a common single motor, so there is no way for having wheel slip on one of the engines. Even N scale brass models I have ever looked at had single-motor design.

Kato Big Boy is an exception where each engine is a separate mechanical unit with its own motor, so there is a possibility of simulating this type of slippage.  Not sure how traction tires on the drivers of both engines without affects the slippage.  You might see the engine hopping.

Inherently, just because they are sold that way, does not mean it cannot be done.  Space for a second motor and disconnection from the single motor on the front engine is the only requirement.

The H0 version in the video did exactly this.  My thought was to consider the same concept for the N scale version by mentioning the Spookshow site.

Not EVERY N Scale T1 was built with just one motor.
