So what happens when a UV ink printer company figures out that they can layer their UV cured inks in 3d?  Add in some support gel for complicated shapes?

HOLY HELL

These dutch trains were shared by Mitchell Jetten.  Great color, resolution appears to be 19 micron, and LOOK AT THAT WINDOW GLASS.

Think through this development curve for a moment.  We have model railroad manufacturers that have told us that they see the hobby going away if things can't be manufactured in China, tariffs, etc.

But the other futuristic view is that the amount of labor needed to make trains drastically decreases due to technology like this.  The on-shoring cost for something like this, plus some tooled components like trucks, couplers, and wheels, turns a 20 year ramp up project into 3-5 years.

That is pretty impressive.   Looks a little blurry between colors, but that does not mean that the print quality of a single color is bad.  The Gel sounds like a smooth replacement for the WAX in the Projet process which is what left behind all of the fuzz in the Projet resin, once melted away.

I believe Mitchell still works at SW, yes? Are they trying out this tech in Eindhoven and plan on offering it through "Thangs"?  I have not considered opening a shop in Thangs, do you know of anyone who has?
