Tim, thanks for posting them and trying to help. The stone walls you made worked great for me because you made them. All I had to do was print and resize if I wanted. It's funny I do all this 3D stuff and know nothing about it

That may not be 100% accurate. You are an amazing modeler the tools are different but the statement still remains true and honestly worst case you just take these print them and use them similar to Trains of Texas brick walls. Easy peazy.

Another day another two 3D prints. I had planned to put this A-frame bridge here, but even sized to N it just looked too big.

So I did this instead:

And this was just a HO pump house I resized down to N.

Going back to my Trunkeyville Ttrak module, I was freebasing on what a 1920's backwoods highway bridge would look like.

At that time Bridgehunter had a marvelous photo of a surviving short steel one-lane truss over the Little Brokenstraw creek, it's gone now, but I got photos of it before it was 'upgraded' and removed.  It dated to the 1920's and was a pretty standard design.

But the 'mother lode' of old historic highway bridges and photos was here:
https://www.npshistory.com/publications/yell/hrs-roads/chap12.htm
And a wide variety, at that.

That includes stuff going back to 1912.

I got out to actually photo the details and measure the thing on the Brokenstraw before it was too late, here's the finished model as an example.  Now I've seen this exact same bridge design pop up on HAER in other places, so I suspect it was a standard plan.

Styrene, stripwood, archer rivets.

Should I keep this or smash it with a hammer and print another one?

I clearly used the wrong color:

The printing looks fine, but can you lighten up the red? It looks like it had a heavy dark wash. Like, it looks fine. But the HO one looks better and I think its just the brighter color.

Why?
Paint is just faded a little. I don't see anything wrong with the color itself even if the intent was a brighter red. Still miles better than I'd do.

I think it looks great, Chris. If anything you could brush it with a medium to light grey to bring out some highlights but the variations are really great. The base of build could have more grey less red since the paint would be subjected to water more at the bottom.

I think I saved it. I dabbed on a more orangish barn red over the whole thing to lighten it up. Everything was OK till I use Tamiya line accent on the board gaps and it darkened up the whole thing. I did print another anyways over night... just incase.  ;)
