Do it. Seriously, the Bachmann mogul is a very good starting point. I had mine done in a few nights of work. You just need to add/move a few key details to be really close, was not a difficult bash at all. The big ones are relocating the headlight to the front of the smokebox (it works because the LED is behind the smokebox door anyways, so you just drill through the back of the light housing and door), add triangular number boards and brass number plate (made of styrene), add steps from the running boards down to an extended step plate under the smokebox (styrene plate and GMM steps), and detailing up the tender (styrene, pb wire, etc). Mine is an E-7-a so the coal bunker needed some addition choping, 89 is from a slightly different class and has a bit of a larger bunker, which is even closer to the Bmann. The last big thing is simplifying the side rods to simulate inside valve gear, basically cut off the eccentric rod and eccentric crank, etc. I also changed the tender truck frames for archbar frames that I 3d printed... but thats because Im a glutton for punishement. Decals by micro scale or black cat...

As previously mentioned by @shark_jj and @craigolio1, the N Scale Roadshow was once again exhibiting in the main registration hall during the anual Doubleheaders layout tour in the Kitchener region. We had our largest FreemoN only layout to date, with 65 ft of mainline in a point-to-point arrangement. Craig brought his Malahat modules which have dramatic canyons and soaring bridges. We cant wait to see that scene when it is covered with thousands of trees!
I cant believe im doing this but heres something new.......... Theres more adjustments to be made but you SPFs might like it. these kits will ride on a concor 2-10-2 mech with a 2 axle trailing truck added. im also working on the tenders. dont mind the spot by the cab where i got the shell a little too thin.Drasko (Attachment Link) (Attachment Link)
Now that you have done the work to make the inside of prints fit the Con-Cor heavy 2-10-2 mechanism, us B&O fans would love for you to make the outside of a print look like the B&O "Big Six" 2-10-2 S1A locos.Any chance that will "happen"?

I really consider your layout one of the highlights of the tour, and it's MOLDULAR! You guys have done it right! All the modules blend into the next one. Drasko, great job on the J1. Twelve years ago, I did some planning for one of these. The LL berk mechanism would make a great starting point as the drivers are already perfect. All it needs is an adapter on the front. It screws in where the steam chest goes. No milling required. All it needs is a jig to move the driver supports up one (so that part would need milling. But with a jig, that's be easy with brass tubing.)
Depends on how bad you want it commissioned! It's not currently on my list though. The big sixes rode on 64" drivers so the concor mech isn't suitable as they scale out to a 67"-69" driver not to mention the fact that the mech is about 1/4" too long for a proper 63" drivered 10- coupled mechanism. If I were to draw it up, it would have to be for a stretched kato mikado mech. My models are drawn as close to scale as possible. Drasko
